Innonet won the 2016 Prime Minister's Award for Radio Technology for its 'backpack type mobile base station'.
The backpack-type mobile base station developed by Innonet is applicable to the national disaster safety network. It can be used in severe disaster situations where the network is broken or roads are lost. The backpack-type mobile base station can quickly approach the site to cope with disasters, reducing the disaster response budget.
Mobile base stations are equipped with cognitive radio technology. The technology utilizes TV white space, a convergence technology for broadcasting and telecommunications, for remote wireless backhaul service. Unlicensed band can cover 10km long distance at low cost.
Innonet plans to reduce the communication shadow area by focusing on the market for small base stations that can handle exploding traffic.
