[News Today Song Hye-ri reporter] Microsoft headquarters executives in the United States confirmed to visit South Korea to visit the small and medium-sized enterprises that recently received the ICT regulatory sandbox demonstration.

Microsoft executives visit the company to review it as a partner, which allows Microsoft to buy and install the product or deliver it to Microsoft support institute.

According to the equipment industry, a US headquarters executive will visit Innonet, a small and medium-sized frequency equipment company, on the 10th October. The executive is reportedly coming to Korea to visit Innonet.

Microsoft is increasing its investment in TVWS. Microsoft is using the technology to expand the Internet in the United States and developing countries, while applying it to bus public Wi-Fi. Accordingly, overseas TVWS development and commercialization are being led by MS.

In particular, the spread of TVWS requires products suitable for the site (site need, reasonable price, low operating cost, low power), and the products produced in the US and Canada are not enough to meet the requirements.

Innonet received a special case of demonstration at the ICT Regulation Sandbox on the 26th of last month. The company's proven `` WiFi Service Using TVWS Channels '' is a TV idle channel (TV White Space, TVWS) that is not used locally in the UHF frequency bands (channels 14-51, 470-698 MHz) allocated for TV broadcasting. Refers to an empty channel.

Innonet has applied for a Wi-Fi service using the TVWS to Cheongpungho cruise ship and monorail based on output below 1W.

The ICT Regulatory Sandbox Deliberation Committee grants a special case to this technology and said, "Wi-Fi service using TV idle bands is expected to be expanded to various areas such as cruise ships and monorails." The company is also conducting TVWS demonstration projects with Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Transportation Corporation.

Innonet CEO, Ho-Sang Yoo, said, “It seems that all of the recently developed Innonet products have been developed with IEEE802.11af chip, which is a TVWS standard. ”He explained.

"The other companies don't have products such as TVWS buses public Wi-Fi, TVWS backpack relays and mobile base stations, so Microsoft seems to be considering us as a partner," he said.
