Innonet has developed a gateway that provides Internet service (IoT) using TV frequency band (TVWS).
TVWS is a band that is left empty to prevent digital TV frequency (470 ~ 698㎒) interference. With TVWS, users can communicate up to 10 km radius at speeds up to 20 Mbps. Although the existing TVWS was able to perform only the high-speed Internet backhaul function, Innonet differentiated into TVWS gateway which provides various IoT service by applying communication technology such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and RS-485.
The product can collect IoT device remote control and temperature and humidity sensor data with smartphone. Applying low power technology, it is possible to supply with solar power. Smart factories, smart farms, and IoT farms that minimize power consumption. It is possible to implement the Internet and IoT service without charge for the mobile telecommunication network, which can reduce the operating cost burden.
Innonet will supply new products to 120 locations in Chonnam area in November, establishing high-speed internet and IoT infrastructure in the area between the mountains and the mountains. Establish an ICT service environment in an area that is difficult to establish a wired network.
Innonet has also developed new products such as a backpack terminal device (CPE) that constructs an emergency wireless network in areas other than TVWS gateway equipment. The company plans to expand its capabilities by diversifying its product portfolio and finding new businesses.
The company is also entering the global market. Prior to this, Innonet released new products such as TVWS gateway equipment at the exhibition and seminar of the United Nations Asia-Pacific Broadband Network that was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 27th of last month. We plan to concentrate on supplying internet and IoT service in developing countries in Asia and the Pacific.
"We will try to supply TVWS equipments to the national disaster safety communication network," he said. "We are planning to develop various products using TVWS features and to enter the internet and IoT market."
