<Inonnet announced on the 3rd that Korea's first developed TVWS device has acquired 'KC Certification'.

The preparation for the wireless Internet service using 'TV White Space (TVWS)' is finished. Using TVWS, it is possible to provide high-speed wireless Internet service with only 10% of optical cable construction cost.

Innonet's first domestically developed TVWS device acquired the National Integrated Certification (KC Certification). At the end of last year, the TVWS wireless Internet utilization system was implemented, followed by the acquisition of certification equipment and commercialization.

Yoo Ho-sang, CEO of Inonnet, said, “Commercial products allow anyone of the nation to use the wireless Internet service where TVWS is available.”

TVWS is an idle band left in the digital TV frequency (470 ~ 698MHz) to prevent interference. The radio wave reaching distance is 10km long and transmittance is high. The cost of constructing optical cables for 10km of coverage is 70 million won and the cost of constructing TVWS equipment is 5 million ~ 6 million won.
